Duluth Library Foundation  

While support from the City of Duluth reflects the high value the community places on the Duluth Public Library's services, private gifts and donations make a critical difference when it comes to maintaining a tradition of outstanding facilities, collections and services. Since February 14, 1990, the Duluth Library Foundation has been connecting donors with materials and programs for all ages. Duluth Library Foundation donors are an extraordinarily generous group of people who love their Library and have a commitment to lifelong learning. The Foundation's current fundraising campaign is "Love Your Library With a Gift," encouraging donations that will help provide library materials and services. Duluth Library Foundation Projects:

• Initial funding for the Main Library's wireless Internet connection
• Purchasing hundreds of books for library collections
• Supporting One Book, One Community, our area-wide reading project
• Notecards of early Duluth - available as a premium with a donation of $25 or more to the Foundation.
• Funding "Four Seasons of Reading," original woodcuts and notecards by Grand Marais artist Betsy Bowen
• Purchasing books and materials for Book Time with Your Baby
• Purchasing books featured in the Online Book Clubs and funding the first year's subscription to the clubs
• Purchasing DVDs and videos for the Mt. Royal Branch Library
• Funding the renovation of pillars on the first floor of the Main Library
• Readiatrics, a program that provided new books to hospitalized children during the winter holidays
• Financial support for exhibits and educational programs
• Purchasing the initial subscription and subsequent funding for Biography Resource Center, which provides information on more than 185,000 people from throughout history.
• Funding for the computer lab
