Buying Materials for the Library
Top line

Materials for library collections are chosen to fill the informational, recreational, and educational needs of the wide variety of people found in our community. Selection of materials is done with criteria in mind and based on reviews found in magazines, newspapers and the media. Materials are chosen for quality, usefulness, accuracy, cost, and need.

The Library also purchases books by local authors and about local and regional interests. We try to maintain a well-rounded collection, providing classics and perennial favorites as well as materials that are currently popular.

We appreciate suggestions and requests for titles to add to the collection. Request for Purchase forms are available online or at the information desks at the Library.

Books not selected for purchase can almost always be borrowed from other libraries through the Interlibrary Loan service. Ask at an information desk for request forms and assistance.
