Summer Reading 2005:
What's Buzzin' at Your Library?

The stuffed toys in Youth Services were bitten by the "reading bug!"

 Raggedy Ann
 Berenstain Bears reading

Ordean Middle School loaned us a papier-mache honeybee

Ordean also loaned us some real bugs. This case held, at different times during the summer, a HUGE hairy tarantula, hissing cockroaches, mealworms and caterpillars that became butterflies.

"Katie the Caterpillar" reflected how much Duluth kids read during the summer.
For every 5 hours of reading that was reported, Katie "grew" a new leg.
3201 hours of reading = 640 legs!
