Youth Services

The Youth Services area provides kids and teens with an inviting place to hang out while reading, using computers, doing homework, playing board games, visiting with friends or playing with toys.   TumbleBooks - Adds animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book which kids can read or have read to them. Stories are available in English, Spanish, French and Chinese. There are also book-related puzzles and games, and collections of chapter books, classic children's books and children's audiobooks. In Youth Services, look for:

• Books and magazines for children from birth to high school (Books not owned by the Duluth Public Library may be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan.)
• Special collections of mysteries, science fiction/fantasy, beginning readers, homework help resources, Christmas books, holiday picture books, foreign language children's books
• Fiction, mysteries, science fiction, graphic novels, nonfiction and magazines for teens
• Book/cassette and book/disc kits
• Toys to check out
• Books and magazines for parents, teachers and other caregivers
• Computers with games, Internet access and homework help resources
• Board games and puzzles to play at the Library
• A service desk where staff are happy to answer questions and help find library materials.
