2010 Annual Report

On February 14, 1990, the Duluth Library Foundation was created to help sustain the Duluth Public Library in its mission to serve the community, making information and technological resources accessible to everyone. We continue in that strong tradition, and invite you to join us in supporting one of Duluth's treasures: the public library. As government funding shrinks, we aim to keep our library strong and to seek new means of sustainability.

 

You can help!

  • By giving a cash gift
  • By donating stocks, bonds, or other assets
  • By naming the Duluth Library Foundation as a beneficiary in your will
  • By working with us to develop creative ideas for funding the library

Your gifts enhance the well-being of the library and uplift the community as a whole. We encourage you to help in whatever way is most comfortable:

Notecards of early Duluth are available as a premium with a donation of $25 or more to the Foundation

 

Since its beginning, the Duluth Library Foundation has supported the library by:

  • Purchasing hundreds of books, DVDs and other materials for library collections
  • Supporting One Book, One Community, an area-wide reading project
  • Funding the renovation of pillars at the Main Library
  • Funding traveling exhibits and their related programming
  • Purchasing new carpeting and furniture throughout the Main Library
  • Initial funding for wireless Internet access at Main Library
  • Initial funding for the Computer Lab

The Foundation Board is composed of energetic, creative individuals who share a vision for the library and for the community it serves. They work with local governmental leaders, the business community, and the public at large to further the well-being of the library.
